KISS Definitely Coming To Brandon

Legendary '70s rock band KISS is coming to Brandon.

Ending weeks of rumour and speculation, the Keystone Centre officially announced the concert on KX96 this morning.

As the Brandon Sun originally reported in February, KISS will be appearing at Westman Place on July 17. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, April 5, and can be purchased online at tickets.keystonecentre.com, at the Keystone box office, or by calling 204-726-3555. Presales start tomorrow, April 3, at 10 a.m.

The show will be one of the biggest ever at the arena.

"We're certainly hoping the facility can handle it," Keystone general manager Neil Thompson said.

Shinedown will be the opening act.

It's just the latest in a string of major acts to come to Brandon. Thompson said there were still a few good seats available for Mötley Crüe, but that it is about 80 per cent sold out.

The KISS date was leaked about six weeks ago, when KISS frontman Gene Simmons posted a list of tour dates to his website, including Brandon. The list was later scrubbed from the site, although at least one date on it was confirmed.

No ticket prices have yet been released.

KISS will also be appearing in Winnipeg on July 18. Off the tour, apparently, is Estevan, which was part of the first round of reports but which doesn't appear on the KISS tour list posted by the band.

The Brandon Sun is a co-presenter of the concert.
