Gene Simmons Thinks He's Stoned

www.tvsquad.com

Ah, the power of suggestion. Gene Simmons proved just how strong it can be on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Sun., 9:30PM on AETV) after eating what he thought were tainted cookies.

At a show in Amsterdam, his manager Doc McGhee came into his dressing room and picked up two trays of goodies. "Some fan brought them for the band," he said. "They shouldn't have put them out."

"I ate three," Simmons lamented.

"Well, have a fun show," Doc replied smiling.

When his son Nick came in to check on him, Simmons was starting to "feel" the affects of the cookies. "I feel like a giant," he said at one point, looming over a chair. At another, he pulled his eyes open and told his son, "Look in my eyes."

He was dazed and confused, looking around perplexed, until McGhee returned with the trays. "False alarm," he said. "These were from catering."

"The cookies are good?" Simmons asked incredulously. How could he be feeling so awful if the cookies weren't tainted?

"He doesn't even know what it is to be high, "McGhee said to Nick as the two walked off laughing, leaving Gene behind still looking as confused as he had when he thought he was stoned.

"No he doesn't," Nick agreed. But now we all know how easy it would be to convince him he is. It might have made for an interesting night if McGhee had held off on telling him until after the band's performance.
