Gene Simmons Defends Steven Tyler's American Idol Move

We've all heard the news by now that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is one of the two new judges on FOX's 'American Idol' this coming season. Recently, Detroit rocker Kid Rock commented negatively on Steven Tyler's new job to Entertainment Weekly:

"[Steven] is a sacred American institution of rock'n'roll, and he just threw it all out the window," [He] just stomped on it and set it on fire."
"We should bring back the guillotine, or whatever they call that thing," he continued, proposing a French revolutionary death sentence for whoever recommended the TV job. "And if [Steven made the decision] himself, he needs some serious counselling. I love him to death, but I gotta speak the truth."
Well KISS' Gene Simmons has piped up on the situation and has remarked against Kid Rock, defending Tyler's new move as a judge on A.I.

Gene claims:

"Kid Rock's wrong. Kid's a good guy. Though he's got the goods. But he's wrong about Tyler and Amer Idol. Kid said Tyler did the "stupidest thing" re: Amer Idol. He's wrong. Steven did the right thing. He's going to rock the place, and it's the best thing for him right now."
 Story still developing...
